baby, baby, baby oooohhhhhh

on April 4th Dominick and I checked into the hospital, our baby boy was breech so we were going ahead with a scheduled c-section. I hardly slept the night before anticipating what the next would hold, finally getting to meet my son.

here we are leaving the house, excited but nervous.

this is me getting all set up. last photo of preggo Chelsea!

we had the most wonderful nurse, her name was Marilyn and I loved her. she was so sweet and caring. when it was time to move into the operating room I just started crying, overwhelmed with different emotions. she just stopped and hugged me and said everything was going to be alright but to take my time and we would go when I was ready. I was so thankful for her encouragement and patience in that moment.
when I got into the operating room I was again thankful to find all of the doctors and nurses to be very pleasant and thoughtful. the anesthesiologist was from Tennessee and had a thick southern accent which I immediately found comforting.

they numbed me up and brought Dominick in. I was happy to have him with me again. a southern accent is nothing compared to him holding my hand. they started and it seemed like no time that all the doctors were saying, "we are getting close Chelsea, he's almost here."
and then all of a sudden it seemed, there he was. they held him up over the screen so I could see him,

a beautiful baby boy.

they moved him over to clean him up and check him out and that is when he let us all hear his healthy lungs.

I was just crying. so blissfully happy.

Dominick brought him over and laid him on my chest.

Vincent James Adamo
7lbs 15oz.
20 inches long
brown hair blue eyes
and the ability to capture my heart in a single moment.

I just laid there kissing his big cheeks and felt Dominick kiss my cheek,
absolutely one of the most precious moments of my life.
Dominick then carried him out to meet his grandparents while I finished my surgery.

they kind of like him

three generations of Adamo men

this is our first pic as a fam of three

Vince has also gotten to meet his aunt Kay

and his uncle Cody

this is us taking him home, they actually let us leave the hospital with him!!

he's has a camera in his face a lot in his 7 weeks of life.

we think he's pretty great.

some of my favorite things:

-when I kiss his cheeks he leans into them and it calms him down

-he likes his face to be nuzzled. when I'm rocking him to sleep he nuzzles into the crook of my arm.

-all of his hair, I love his precious head of hair. he also has hair on his arms and his back, we call him, 'teen wolf.'

-everything else

the other night we were hanging out with some friends and they had a little boy too. one of Vince's blankets was on the floor and their little boy picked it up and my friends said, "can you hand that to his mommy?"
it took me back that his mommy was me! I'm a mom! still a little crazy to me.

but I'm loving every minute...well mostly every minute. he can definitely scream.

another very fun thing, seeing Dominick as a dad. he is in love with his son and the feeling is mutual. Vince will play with me but he is so happy just to sit with Dominick.

we are having the time of our lives getting to know our son and love him more and more everyday.
