baby, baby, baby oooohhhhhh

on April 4th Dominick and I checked into the hospital, our baby boy was breech so we were going ahead with a scheduled c-section. I hardly slept the night before anticipating what the next would hold, finally getting to meet my son.

here we are leaving the house, excited but nervous.

this is me getting all set up. last photo of preggo Chelsea!

we had the most wonderful nurse, her name was Marilyn and I loved her. she was so sweet and caring. when it was time to move into the operating room I just started crying, overwhelmed with different emotions. she just stopped and hugged me and said everything was going to be alright but to take my time and we would go when I was ready. I was so thankful for her encouragement and patience in that moment.
when I got into the operating room I was again thankful to find all of the doctors and nurses to be very pleasant and thoughtful. the anesthesiologist was from Tennessee and had a thick southern accent which I immediately found comforting.

they numbed me up and brought Dominick in. I was happy to have him with me again. a southern accent is nothing compared to him holding my hand. they started and it seemed like no time that all the doctors were saying, "we are getting close Chelsea, he's almost here."
and then all of a sudden it seemed, there he was. they held him up over the screen so I could see him,

a beautiful baby boy.

they moved him over to clean him up and check him out and that is when he let us all hear his healthy lungs.

I was just crying. so blissfully happy.

Dominick brought him over and laid him on my chest.

Vincent James Adamo
7lbs 15oz.
20 inches long
brown hair blue eyes
and the ability to capture my heart in a single moment.

I just laid there kissing his big cheeks and felt Dominick kiss my cheek,
absolutely one of the most precious moments of my life.
Dominick then carried him out to meet his grandparents while I finished my surgery.

they kind of like him

three generations of Adamo men

this is our first pic as a fam of three

Vince has also gotten to meet his aunt Kay

and his uncle Cody

this is us taking him home, they actually let us leave the hospital with him!!

he's has a camera in his face a lot in his 7 weeks of life.

we think he's pretty great.

some of my favorite things:

-when I kiss his cheeks he leans into them and it calms him down

-he likes his face to be nuzzled. when I'm rocking him to sleep he nuzzles into the crook of my arm.

-all of his hair, I love his precious head of hair. he also has hair on his arms and his back, we call him, 'teen wolf.'

-everything else

the other night we were hanging out with some friends and they had a little boy too. one of Vince's blankets was on the floor and their little boy picked it up and my friends said, "can you hand that to his mommy?"
it took me back that his mommy was me! I'm a mom! still a little crazy to me.

but I'm loving every minute...well mostly every minute. he can definitely scream.

another very fun thing, seeing Dominick as a dad. he is in love with his son and the feeling is mutual. Vince will play with me but he is so happy just to sit with Dominick.

we are having the time of our lives getting to know our son and love him more and more everyday.

dear Vince

dear Vince,
your dad and I are so excited to meet you so soon. we can't wait to see your face, hear your cries and look in your eyes.
you dad has worked hard on getting your room ready and if I do say so myself he did a great job and it looks so cute and just needs a cute baby to come live in it.

also in preparing for your arrival your dad and I did a stay-cation weekend to relax and spend time together. we had a great time at the Denver aquarium.

we talked about how we can't wait to bring you with us and how much we think you'll like it.
also your dad stuck his finger in the piraƱa tank.

you are going to have so much fun with him.
one of the many things I love about him is that he is a complete grown up when he needs to be. he has been so good to me during my pregnancy and he is totally ready and excited to take on his role as your father and the leader of our family but when it's time to be silly and have fun he is great at that too.
we also have done a lot of hiking during the beautiful spring we have been having.

we also had a nice weekend with some friends enjoying the st. patrick's day parade.

and now we are waiting.
waiting waiting
for you.
I am getting a little impatient.
I just can't wait to meet you little darling.
also as you can see from the pic above, I've gotten about as fat as I want to get so anytime you are ready, we are ready.
love you,
your mom

Dominick my darling...

Dominick,

I love waking up in the middle of the night to the sound of you talking in your sleep.

I love how much I laugh when we are together. It seems even during the most mundane task you can keep me rolling.

I love that we are having a baby together and the way you have cared for me during the pregnancy.

I loved the (very manly) tears in your eyes during our wedding day and during the ultrasound finding out our baby was a boy.

I love and greatly appreciate how you pray, strive and fight for my holiness along with your own.

I love you.

Happy anniversary, the last two years have been the  best of my life.

getting excited, getting nervous

we had a 4 hr. birthing class this morning. we left feeling very excited for our son's arrival but also a little nervous about all the work it takes to get him out. anyway after class Dominick suggested a drive through the mountains. it was the perfect relaxation tool. it was a beautiful day and just what we needed. I'm 33 weeks now so we are getting close and so ready for the little guy to be here!

here is a pic of how big I've gotten.

hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

last weekend

Last week we had beautiful weather in Colorado. thankfully it stayed nice and was possibly the most beautiful on Saturday when we could get out and enjoy it. it was 60 degrees, in January, in Colorado! so wonderful.

so we went to Boulder and walked pearl street.

we saw some street performers.

and a hawk kill a pigeon and eat it in a tree. so lovely. nature!

then we toured Oskar blues brewery.

Dominick again, not being pregnant enjoys the brewery stops more than me.

we also had lunch and pei wei which we don't have in fort collins.

on Sunday we worked on setting up baby furniture. Dom was so excited to get started.

it just makes me want that baby boy to get here so bad but I guess I'll wait for him to be ready, you know, done cooking in there.

hope you all had a nice weekend!

a few pics

I thought I would share some pics of our December. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this but Dom works at otter box, helping them keep our technology covered. which means we were invited to their swanky Christmas party. here is ice sculpture proof

we had a wonderful time at this fancy party

another ice sculpture

our good friends brian and Amy, Brian and Dominick to work together and the four of us have a lot of fun together. the only problem is they are from st. Louis and are cardinal fans but no one is perfect.

here we are with some other friends, I think in this pic Dom is pretending to give our baby a drink of his beer- inappropriate

here is Dom attempting to juggle some of the decorative Christmas balls- by this time of the night our fancy had wore off

the week of Christmas we went to TX to visit our fams. my brother and some cousins

a very serious picture

we went to Marshall, my old ETBU stomping grounds to see the lights

Dom's sis being a nutcracker

We played lots of games like minute to win it, makes for some funny pics

also kid cousins got a marshmallow blow gun and I couldn't help but try it out. my favorite was popping my brother Luke in the back of the head from about a foot away.

fun week and good times. hope you are all having a great new year. I am quite excited that it is 2012 since this is the year our son is due and I am quite anxious to meet him.
